Autumn Love - Cake Romance!

It's been a busy beaver Fall for Coco Cake indeed. Here is a round-up of some Fall-in-love cakes and cupcakes... !

Lindsay and Greg's lovely, simple dark chocolate vegan and gluten free wedding cupcakes at the Brock House in Vancouver! I adore the uniformity, red color blast and cuteness a single berry topper can give to a grouping of lovely cupcakes.

An anniversary cake for one of my favourite wedding couples from last year, Jeanie and Ian!

Denalda's 50th birthday bash at the Granville Island Hotel - loving how all of those lovely minis looked nestled closely on their stand - dark chocolate with vanilla buttercream, raspberry topped vanilla cupcakes with ruffle-puff frosting, and lemon cupcakes with lemon creamcheese frosting!

Daisy Wedding Green Tea Cupcakes!

Lisa and Brian tied the knot at Seasons In The Park here in Vancouver, with adorable little Felix in tow! Lisa and I knew each other many moons ago when we both powered through some Women's Studies classes together back at the University of Victoria! So lovely to be in touch again. As well, her equally adorable sister is the designer Jean Okada - if you need the world's cutest party dress, you should definitely check out her designs!

I made these cutie green tea cupcakes with blobettes of vanilla buttercream and fondant daisy toppers in the wedding colours of orange and green. Bright, Spring-y, cute and fun! Many sweet congratulations to Lisa, Brian... and Felix!

Wedding Wonderful!

2011 is here and I've been inundated with many wonderful emails from many lovely sounding brides and grooms... here are some of my favourite wedding cupcake and cake pics from the last year... !

Speaking of weddings... I will be in the one and only Indie I Do wedding fair this Saturday, January 22nd at Heritage Hall here in Vancouver! (Incidentally the Hall where Rich and I got married four years ago! -- I've attached a picture here for sentimental value... hee!) Indie I Do is a superfun wedding fair, with a great underlying energy, for artsy and artful, vintage-look, alternative and crafty brides and grooms! So come on out this Saturday and meet me, Lyndsay, and my lovely assistant Sharon! I will also have cupcakes for sale!

Also, look for a month's worth of guest posts by little old me, Auntie Coco Cake, over at the AMAZING design blog Poppytalk, starting tomorrow! So cool! I'm excited since I've followed her blog for years and think it's so inspirational!

Jen & Ben's Super Cute & Crafty Wedding!

The darling Jen and scholarly Ben got hitched in a whimsically craft-ful swirl of coloured bunting, gingham tablecloths, typewriters, ice cream and red stripey old-timey straws. Coco Cake Weddings Department (heh heh) was on hand to provide a triple threat of delicious cupcake trouble -- pink rosette buttercream frosted Berry Good (vanilla cake with fresh raspberry and swirled jam), vegan dark chocolate Coco Ganache (gluten free even, to boot!) and Lemon Frill (lemon cake with lemon creamcheese frosting!).

In addition to the cupcakes, I also made a sweet little buttercream frosted, fresh-raspberry filled cutting cake for the top tier of the cupcakes, dozens of pretty little mini flags, and, as requested by the bride, two handmade bunting(s?), one large and one mini! Ahhhdorable!

Sweet details made this party super cute: red and white stripey straws, oodles of ice cream and the cutest cake toppers I've yet to see, emulating the bride and groom exactly!

Thank you Jen & Ben, for having Coco Cake be a part of it all! And mega congrats to you both!

Aaron & Jay's Country Fair Wedding Hoedown!

I love it when a bride and groom has such a strong, fun vision -- for instance, Aaron & Jay's country fair hoedown wedding! Picture lemonade, Pop Shoppe soda, live band with banjo and standup bass, and oodles of sweet country charm. Lotus Events helped plan this adorable shindig, held at Cambrian Hall here in Vancouver.

I made 160+ Coco Cake cupcakes, three types of cupcakes in an assortment of colored liners, including gingham and polkadot cupcake liners to match the theme of the wedding! Raspberry Rose (vanilla cupcake filled with raspberry jam, topped with light pink vanilla buttercream and fresh raspberry), Lemon Frill (brightly flavoured lemon cupcake with lemon creamcheese frosting!) and a vegan option of Coco Ganache (dark chocolate vegan cupcake with vegan chocolate ganache!).
