Horse Ribbon Cupcake Liner Garland DIY - Giddy Up!

Yee-haw! I'm so excited to announce I'm a new contributor to the super sweet blog Julep, part of the design site Minted.com. I love their DIYs and inspiration and am so thrilled to share this horse ribbon garland made from good old cupcake liners with you!

Gallop (oh dear!) on over to Julep right now for the full tutorial - it's cute and easy and it guarantees that your next party will likely be horsier than the last!

Simple Black and White Party + Cake

I love a good black and white colour scheme for a party. It can look totally modern, or in this case: vintage modern! I used a black and white graphic vintage tablecloth from the 1970s (a hand-me-down from my mom) and for display, a cool metal letter E I got from The Land Of Nod

Not only does a vintage-look metal letter look great for parties but you can hang it on your wall or tuck it onto a bookshelf once the party is over for eye-catching and forever-cool decor!

A vanilla buttercream frosted cake gets the sprinkles treatment.

Other simple ways to create unity in a simple color scheme without spending a load of cash? Cake flags made from fancifully designed Japanese washi tape in coordinating colors, and another lovely garland made from two dozen cupcake liners, splayed open and taped along a standard string.

Happy merry making, everyone!

Thank you to Land Of Nod for sending me the awesome metal letters.

Cupcake Liner Garland + Mini Party = TGIF

The easiest mini party in the world.

I baked a single layer cake in a round pan and frosted it using the classic 1M tip.

Just fit your piping bag with the tip, fill it with buttercream frosting of your choice then swirl away on the top of your cake! A dash of colorful sprinkles and a cute little party flag and you are all set!

The garland was made using some super cute black and white gingham cupcake liners - but you could use any color or style your please. There are so many great ones out there! I just folded them in half and used double sided tape to adhere them together, strung along a simple string. I stuck it to the wall using some adorable Japanese washi tape (it's masking tape so it doesn't peel your wall paint away!) and it adds another simple cute element!

Done like dinner. A mini cake dinner.

Happy Friday, everyone!
